This is a replacement part for UE in a Commodore 8296 using an CPLD chip.

The JEDEC file below is for UE6 replacement.

But the PCB can be used for replace any 82S10x PLA chip.

Using always the same PCB but of course another JEDEC file.

Most of the defect Commodore 8296 Computer has a problem with the PLA chips (UE5 and/or UE6). After replace the PLA chips most of this old Computers running fine.

This project is inspired by two projects:

• PLA Replacement for 8296 (UE5) by Nicolas Welte using one GAL 20v10 (file available at zimmers.net)
• PLA Replacement for C64 by Dani?l Mantione (PLA20V8)

You will need an Atmel CPLD ATF-1504AS or ATF-1504ASL.

To program this CPLD you need an JTAG Player (or the original JTAG Programmer ATDH1150USB from Microchip).
