Electromagnetic clutch/brake driver
This board was developed to drive electromagnetic clutch and brake for an hi-speed positioning system.
Main uController monitors some syncro inputs and drive the electromagnetic clutch via an HiSide MosFET with 24Vdc,
A colour sensible photocell reads barrs on a rotating part and give feedback signal to the board. When the right barr is detected, uController switch off the clutch and drive the brake magnet with 100Vdc short impulse. After "launching time", the brake is drived with 24Vdc.
For steady operations, the power outputs are PWM regulated to reduce heating.
The board provides a current feedback control to the uController to prevent extraheating in electromagnets.
Other inputs and 2 relè output are used to control external system parts.
On board are placed all the power supply parts and regulators, power MosFETs, drivers, filters and the uController with connectors for InCircuitSerialProgramming and Debugging.
board size:160x200mm, 2 layers.
Project year 2020, it replace an old board in a custom project. 5pcs needed.
