FAR OUR VISION - LIDAR
In now-a-days, visually impaired people face a lot of struggles in doing their day to day works. In past, they are using a can type traditional device that is stick type device is used for every small works like walking in crowd, going in unknown way, etc. It is very difficult for them to carry that device where ever they go. So, we are designing a hand-held device which is capable to hold in their hands with light weight. We are designing this product for blind people considering that they are not deaf. Our device have some sensors to rectify their problem. Firstly, LIDAR sensor(Light detecting and Ranging) is used to detect the obstacle that is infront of them by passing a pulsed light to measure the distance between the user and obstacle. When the user pressed the power button, Lidar starts sensing the obstacles. If the obstacle is detected, then the user is alert by using Bluetooth headphone. The audio is used to alert the user that there is an obstacle, so they have to choose another way that is right or left by the guidelines of the audio. Next, the pits and stairs are identified by using HC-SR04(ultrasonic)sensor. If the stair and pits that is sudden increase or decrease in height of the device is detected, the user is alert by headphone. Also I have used DHT11 sensor for knowing weather outside the environment. If the weather is unpleasant, the user will get alert in headphone. We have fabricated own board by using Atmega328p Ic’s instead of using the whole Arduino Uno board. The size of our board is minimized due to our own PCB board usage. This device is perfectly packed with 3-D printing and we have developed the perfect product.
