Description
HP 8082A ECL Inverter Gate
This is to repair an HP 8082A pulser. The custom ECL IC, U2 on board A3 had failed, and since it is an old HP only custom IC you can't find a new one anymore. This does not use regular ECL levels either, so you can't use modern ECL for replacement. Instead this recreates the missing signal, and just wires right in. The transistors are 3GHz BFS17 but probably BFS98 would work fine. Details on the video series here: https://youtu.be/PuzbwwIN85U
