Hathor - SGTL5000 audio breakout for ESP32
DANGER: this board is preliminary and untested as of this writing!
Datasheet for the IC: SGTL5000.pdf (nxp.com)
But while I wait to un-gum the works at my local board shop, I'll leave you enough to see if it's suitable for your needs. I already goofed once by forgetting to connect up the 3.3 volt lines... hence I've had to rinse and repeat.
This *should* work with any modern microcontroller that has a I2S (inter-IC sound) facility - it will not function in isolation.
The primary function here is to make small, fully standalone USB microphones, headphones and mixers. A similar board is available for the Teensy (by PJRC) but this is outfitted to interface to any suitable microcontroller. Power can come from 3,3 or volts or optionally 5V (not at the same time!). 5V is regulated down to 3,3 volts and that's regulated down to 1,8 volts to drive VDDD.
Functionally this chip is supported by existing Arduino libraries. I'll put the whole project on the DIY Perks website
