  • Hi! Thank you for your work on this, I love the dedication to upgrade/mod instead of replacing. I'm based in the UK and I have ordered a PCB to populate and mod my own MX Ergo. I bought x6 the components too so I'll have some pre populated boards available to ship from the UK if anyone is interested!

  • Hi there, thank you so much for making this! Do I have to click "assemble both sides" in the options menu, as I think the board has SMD components on both sides? Thank you once again!

Yes, SMD components on both sides.

  • Found this through a YouTube video and I'm extremely impressed. I'm strongly considering ordering one (or, presumably, a small batch) but I have a couple of questions. 1) You say in the descript_ion to select "1.2 thick PCB" however I notice that when starting the configurator it defaults to 1.6 - which information is correct, and are there any other "gotchas" like this to be mindful of? 2) Assuming I wanted to order this pre-assembled (PCB+Assembly), is there anything that needs to be done to the mouse itself other than using a dremel etc. to file away some excess plastic? Your YouTube video suggests this needs to be done around the port "hole" and also underneath the board due to clearance conflicts; are these details the same with your newer board revision? I'm not in a huge rush so I'd rather make absolutely sure I don't accidentally order the wrong thing.

Oh also, it looks from the images as if the PCB requires assembly from both sides whereas the default option in the configurator is from one side, and I'm not sure which option would be the right one to choose for an order.

The board thickness and Assembly side information you mentioned are just the default options on our pricing page, but you can modify them according to the actual situation.

Now we have changed the default parameter for PCB thickness to 1.2mm.

  • For ordering assembled, PCBWay wants to have a centroid file. Do you have one and can you add it to the shared project?

I am going to be giving them this file later today!

The assembly folder in the gerber folder has centriod files.

All set. Please try again :)

  • I've been annoyed by this micro-usb, and have already been sticking usb-c ports into other devices (where I had room to glue in a tiny break-out board) to convert them from fixed wire to removable. However, I totally lacked the skill to adapt my ergo. Thank you for making these available, I have ordered a small batch from pcb-way, fully assembled (few people around me will want this conversion too) and tested it on a parts ergo with great success! TBH, in essence it's still ludicrously expensive and could be solved by carrying a small dongle, but damn if it doesn't look nice. For those who can do their own soldering (I have 0 experience with SMD's) the cost is way more attractive.

That is so awesome to hear! I would love to see some pictures of your conversion! I wish I could sell these myself but I just don't even know where to begin there so I figured the next best thing would be to make them orderable through here. Thank you so much for trying it out and leaving feedback :)

I'm lucky to own three functioning ergo's (only one of which I bought) due to some repair work. I was waiting to reply until I'd gone through all three, and have done a proper 'made this' with some updates to the process, plus images on instructables, however it doesn't show up. Please let me know if it needed curation, or is gone due to unknown internet shenanigans (in which case I'll re-type it)

Did you provide them the centroid file for the assembly? Do you have one you can share? I wanted to order some already assembled but I got the message that the centroid file is missing.

The assembly folder in the gerber folder has centriod files.
