Low current limiter
Low current limiter
This small circuit is intended to limit a small amount of current, using very few components (and all of them easy to get).
Materials:
- 1 10K resistor
- 1 resistor (the value of which you will have to calculate)
- 2 2N2222 transistors (or equivalent)
- 2 2-pin terminals (optional)
Rx Calculation:
The resistance you have to calculate (Rx), will be based on how much current you want to limit (Iout). To do this, you must know the base-emitter voltage (VbeQ2) of the transistor called "Q2" (and of course, the value of the current you want to limit at the output), and apply the formula:
Rx = VbeQ2 / Iout
Extra:
The PCB has a couple of holes for mounting (if desired), whose measurements are to use metric 2 (M2) bolts.
PCBWay Service:
Both the circuit and PCB schematics were designed in KiCAD v8. The Gerber was then generated so that it could be sent to PCBWay for manufacturing (like all my boards that I have made). On this occasion, a green PCB with white silkscreen printing was chosen (the classic).
We received the PCBs in just 10 days (to Chile), and as always, the quality was exceptional.
It should be mentioned that during these ten years, PCBWay has distinguished itself by providing exceptional PCB manufacturing and assembly services, becoming a trusted partner for countless engineers and designers around the world.
Its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has been unwavering, leading to significant growth and expansion.
My advice: check out PCBWay here if you want excellent PCB service at an affordable price, you won't regret it.
