Smart Dustbin Using Arduino | Self Open Dustbin
Hey guys welcome back to the PCBWAY. we are back again with a very cool project. In this project we are going to make a special kind of dustbin which have two function. one is open lid automatically when some one come to through the garbage and other function is overflow alarm if the dustbin is full the alarm will start. we named this dustbin as " Smart dustbin". This is very interesting project which can be used in our home, school office and many other places. This dustbin is different from normal dustbin and it will attract the people to through the garbage into it. only thing is that you have to give it the electricity by battery or power supply. We are going to give you all the information only you have read and follow the given steps. So, let get started.
Introduction
Smart dustbin are using some electronic components in itself. By all these components make a system that make the dustbin smart. When you goes in front of the dustbin it can sense you and open the lid for 10 seconds then lid will close. Also, we there is an overflow alarm when you will come to through the garbage in it it will start the beep sound if there is no space in the dustbin for the garbage. this is the new function which we have added.

Working
As we have tested the dustbin if there somebody in front of the dustbin the lid will open it means there is some kind of sensor which are detecting the object or human. yes, there we are using Ultrasonic sensor this ultrasonic sensor uses the high frequency sound wave to do this. Ultrasonic sensor have two device one is transmitter and another is receiver. By the transmitter the ultrasonic sensor send the waves and when there is any object the wave return back after hitting that object and receive by the receiver.
Now, there is gap between the transmission and receiving the waves. the waves take some duration to return back to the sensor. by this duration we will calculate the distance from the object by some speed and time formula. after calculation we get the distance and by this distance we set the threshold. like id the the object is at less than 20 centimeters then the Servo motor start and open the lid. and after the 10 seconds the lid will closed automatically.
The same fundamental used in the overflow alarm only there is the threshold distance is less and we are using there the buzzer instead of servo motor.
