Automatic plant watering system
Hey guys, welcome back to PCBWAY. Today we are making a very useful project which can help you in your garden. I am sharing my application where i am using this project and also will suggest you to use this awesome project. There is garden at the roof top and it is very tought to come to the roof top to watering the plant here. so, i have decided to make an automatic plant watering system. Now, i dont need to go to the roof top daily. my system automatically decide when he has to start the watering to the plant.
Introdcution:-
If there is no water in the soil or there is dry soil then the dripping system of water start. there is a lot of plants in my garden area and i have used many sensor over there. and my system is on the roof top so, full day it get the sunlight and due to the sunlight the soil get dry early. as soon as the soil will get dry the water pump start and watering the whole system. The watering system only give required amount of water not more than requirement or not less than.
Automatic plant watering system also contain a reservier for the plant watering system. our motor pump get the water from the same source. it s also known as the smart irrigation system. in this system we are using An arduino which works like a brain. that brain monitoring all the sensor and controlling all the relays which directly trigger the water pump and the solenoid system
there are two things in this project i am using different water pump for the different sensor you can use the solenoid valve.
Material Required:-
- Arduino Uno
- Water pump
- 4 channel relay module
- soil moisture sensor
- Ultrasonic sensor
- LCD DIsplay
- Jumper wire
- Potentiometer
Working:-
There are two things which are working parelleli in this porject.
- One is monitoring the soil mositure level
In this system we are using some special kind of sensor which can easily detect the moisture in soil. if there is level of moisture is low then the system will start the pump and watering the plan. there is some pre programmed threshold value if the moisture level reach that level then the motor wil start. sensor send the information to teh arduino and arduino sends commands to the motors.
- Other is monitoring the water level in the source
for both we are using the LCD
So, there we are using the Ultrasonic sensor to get the water level. ultrasonic sensor measure the distance between the water and sensor and we conver it to the level of water using some calculation. also we have added an alarm to this system. if the water level is low then the alarm will start.
