Sovol SV08 E3D Revo Coldside
This is a bolt in replacement Coldside for the Sovol SV08 that supports the E3D Revo Hotside ecosystem. Simply remove the Sovol coldside & tip assembly and swap in this aluminum part. The original fan & all the bolts fit exactly in the same place. The tip is located at the same Z axis location as the original tip preserving the part cooling.
This is a cost optimized piece that should not have any tolerance issues. Mine came from PCBWay & I was able to swap it into the machine in about 15 minutes.
I ordered:
- Material: Aluminum 6061
- Color: Silver white
- Surface Finish: Standard (As-Milled) (Ra 125uin)
- Thread and Tapped Holes: Yes
- Tolerance: +/- 0.05mm
- Surface Roughness: 63uin/1.6um RA
- Finished appearance: Standard
The unit cost was ~$84USD as of Sept 4, 2024.
I was inspired by this design: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/E3D_Revo_Heatsink_Adapter_for_the_Sovol_SV08_fbe78f2f.html but wanted to see if I could fix the fitment issues and reduce the part costs as well.
This design was based on the detailed Sovol SV08 PDF drawings as well as the E3D drawings (both PDF and STEP). As such the design and accompanying files maintain the GPLv3 license associated with the originals.
