Description
Amiga 500/2000 2MB Chip RAM Mod
This project allows you to use an 8375 and a memory chip to upgrade your Amiga 500 / 2000 to have 2MB of chip RAM. You will need to desolder the Agnus socket on your motherboard and replace with file 2.54mm sockets for this to work.
This project is based on LIV2's original design, but remade in KiCad and designed to be easier to solder.

Hi Marc, Yes, it is compatible with rev 3 and 5, but the orientation will be different, off the top of my head the long part of the board will be facing the front of the machine. Pay close attention to where pin 1 is on those boards. My main concern is it might hit the bottom of the keyboard, the physical fit is something I haven't tested. I *think* it will fit, but can't guarantee it. Yes, an A600 Agnus will work fine.
Hi Andrew, thank you for your confirmation. I'll check orientation and possible conflict with the keyboard. If it's ok I'll do my mod during summer holiday
Hi Brian, Sukkopero's A500++ boards already uses an Agnus 8375 so this board would not be compatible (the pinout for the motherboard Agnus would be incorrect). Having said that if you have the 2MB RAM chips you could conceivable design a mod board which sits in the RAM sockets and wires the single RAM chip to the correct address / data / control lines.
Hi Marco, This sounds more like a PiStorm issue. If you head on over to the PiStorm Discord we have two support channels there where we can help you out: https://discord.gg/AJpM5Dj3yd In the mean time you can try running ATK's memory test on the Chip RAM (don't do it on PiStorm's fast RAM since that is emulated) to double check that the RAM on the board is good: https://github.com/keirf/Amiga-Stuff/releases
Sorry, I missed that you mentioned a memory test is failing. Can you please attach a screenshot of the failure (or send it to me any other way?), it will help me figure out where the problem lies.
Thanks for support, this evening i will post an image
Hi, linux jedy, today here it's a not working day and i have reinstalled the Amiga 500/2000 2MB Chip RAM Mod, in this moment the ATK 1.28 it's running with Amiga 500 Rev6a 512k stock chip ram, Kick 3.2 and the 2MB chip installed, at this time is at 20.1 round and no problem seems to work fine, I will wait until round 50 and stop it. After that i will reinstall pistorm, test only the 2MB chip ram with ATK 1.18 and reply to this post. Thaanks a lot
Hi, as written at 08/12 i have reinstalled all and fully tested until now, een with pistorm the 500 is stable an working with no problem, obviously there was something wrong last time, bad contact in 2 MB chip socket, bad contact in pistorm socket, in kickrom socket or so but now it's stable, thanks a lot.
