Clap switch with NE555
This is a circuit that has many applications, such as starting engines or any device that is connected to the public network of 220v AC or 110v AC, and also that we will use it as a practice in the institute or university and thus learn. the electronics with a very striking circuit, to turn on or off a lamp with a simple clap, and the clap will be detected by a small micro, and this will activate the timer (NE555) and send a pulse (for each clap that we give) through its pin output #3 (NE555) and we will activate the cd4017.-The CD4017 takes clock pulses from the clock input, and makes one of the ten outputs, we go in sequence each time a clock pulse arrives.
Materials
? 1-10k resistor (R1)
? 1-100k resistor (R2)
? 4-1k resistors (R3, R4, R5, R7)j
? 1-resistance of 330 ohm. (R6)
? 2-NPN transistors 2N2222A (Q1 and Q2)
? 1-100k potentiometer.
? 1-small microphone.
? 1-electrolytic capacitor of 47uF /16v.(C1)
? 1-led diode. (D1)
? 1-rectifier diode 1N1004. (D2)
? 1-integrated circuit NE555 (U1)
? 1-integrated circuit CD4017 (U2)
? 1-220v AC / 6v DC relay (if 110v AC in your country, replace the relay with one of 110v AC / 6v DC)
? 1-220v AC lamp (connected to the relay for the power stage)
? 5v DC source.
NOTE: Pin number 15 can be connected to the following pins, to be able to turn them off with the applause that we want.
1. Q2 (pin #4) = we turn off with 1 clap.
2. Q3 (pin #7) = we turn off with 2 claps.
3. Q4 (pin #10)= we turn off with 3 claps.
4. Q5 (pin #1) = we turn off with 4 claps.
5. Q6 (pin #5) = we turn off with 5 claps.
NOTE: and if we want to turn on with more claps, they only have to connect to the output (in R7 1k that goes to the base of the 2n2222a (Q2).- They have to connect the following pins of the cd4017 to the output, to turn on with the claps that we want.
That is, we replace Q1 (pin # 2) with the following pins:
1. Q1 (pin #2) = turn on with 1 clap.
2. Q2 (pin #4) = turn on with 2 claps.
3. Q3 (pin #7) = turn on with 3 claps.
4. Q4 (pin #10) = turn on with 4 clap.
