Commodore 64 Quad Kernal Switcher
Want a fancy new kernal in that Commodore 64 of yours, but you don't want to drill ugly holes in the case to do so? Then build yourself a switchless one, install cool stuff like JiffyDOS, Turbo ROM MK3 and Turbo Tape into the EPROM and you'll be able to switch between them at the hold of a button (RESTORE).
With the accompanying firmware to go on the PIC, you can easily reuse the standard LED from your case without modifications. Perfect for the newer C64C-style cases, even when using "longboards" in them because you'll be effectively moving the power LED connector to somewhere the original cable will actually reach without adding extension wires.
Still want switches, then you can use the pads at the top to either add them anyway or use jumpers instead - that way you can use the board as a generic 27C256 to 2364 adapter for all your retro needs (just pull or skip installing the PIC).
Check out https://github.com/tebl/C64-Kernal-Switcher for BOM (list of parts), as well as some hints on constructing and installing the module.
