Description
Dual OPA "Alice" Microphone Circuit
This is the PCB for a dual operational amplifier circuit that will mount in a BM-800 body and interface with a condenser microphone capsule such as the TSB2555B and TSB165. These are Electret with no internal FET. Also it will work with true condenser capsules that require bias voltage. This has a 12 volt output that can be used to supply the bias circuitry. The build instructable is here And a video of it in action on four microphones is here https://youtu.be/7JmeEmgNlPw

It is 53mm by 38mm with a taper
It fits U87 style donor bodies, not sure of a real U87. And, I'm not taking mine apart to find out ;-)
Yes, you will need a bias generator board as well. See my Hex Inverter one
The part numbers are on this silk screen.
Thanks. I figured that out eventually. :) I wonder if I can order boards partially assembled. ie IC1.
Yes, you will be fine.
Great, thanks!
You can click Add to cart in the upper right corner, then enter the quantity you want, click calculate, then save to cart, and wait for successful review and payment.
I can see that you have requested the GERBER files more than once over a 2-year period with no response back to you. I really don't think that anyone here is going to provide you with any GERBER files of of this PCB because then they will feel left-out of making any money off of you!!! "MONEY" is the name of the game!!! /
If you want a PCB with assembled components, you can click PCB+Assembly in the upper right corner and place an order.
Thank you, you just manufactured 5 pieces for me as you can see from my account. I was asking about SMT, not through hole, thank you
OK, I get it.
Please refer to this troubleshooting guide: https://www.jlielectronics.com/content/TroubleshootingOPA-Alice%20MicRev1.pdf. Thank you, Jules
The "Dual" refers to the Dual opamp. a bit confusing and I would name it differently if I could do this over. This and the hex inverter will work with a 34mm capsule. That is what I show in the follow up instructable. https://www.instructables.com/True-Condenser-OPA-Mics/
This is the board I used for the instructable with through hole components. C2 and C3 are needed and are 47uF capacitors. I will double check the BOM. Dual means Dual op amp. Probably should have chosen better nomenclature.
C2 and C3 are still sadly missing and update would be great.
They are in there as of now. The Instructable had them as well.
LOL,I did this is because buying a quantity of ten from mouser was cheaper than four. I hand created the BOM for individual builds. Jules
Yes, I need to update the BOM to reflect the actual component numbering. It's on my to do list lol, time to move it up!
Hi I just got my PCBs and am wanting to make sure I got this right: if I use a 12v zener then it goes in D3 and I leave D1 and D2 empty, no jumpers? and if I use two 6.2v zener they go in D1 and D2, and I leave D3 open with no jumper? just wanting to make sure I do it right, cheers!
That is correct.
