Environment Monitoring System with Arduino Nano, DHT11, BMP280, and LCD
What’s the Project About?
The Environment Monitoring System measures and displays real-time environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure using an Arduino Nano, DHT11 sensor (for temp & humidity), and BMP280 sensor (for pressure and temp). The data is shown on a 16x2 LCD, making it a simple, cost-effective solution for weather stations, indoor climate monitoring, and more.
Why Did I Decide to Make It?
I created this project to offer an affordable and easy-to-build environmental monitoring system for those interested in tracking conditions like temperature and humidity. It’s designed for hobbyists, students, or anyone looking to monitor their surroundings without expensive systems.
How Does It Work?
Sensor Data Collection:
- The DHT11 measures temperature and humidity.
- The BMP280 measures barometric pressure and temperature.
Data Processing: The Arduino Nano processes the sensor data and formats it for display.
Display Output: The 16x2 LCD continuously updates to show:
- Temperature (°C) from both DHT11 and BMP280.
- Humidity (%) from DHT11.
- Pressure (hPa) from BMP280.
Real-Time Monitoring: Users can monitor the environmental conditions directly on the LCD without additional devices or interfaces.
Applications:
- Weather stations for real-time monitoring.
- Indoor air quality and climate control.
- Agricultural environments (e.g., greenhouses).
- Smart home integration for automation.
Conclusion:
This Environment Monitoring System is an affordable, easy-to-build solution for tracking key environmental parameters in real-time. It’s ideal for DIYers, educators, and anyone looking to monitor temperature, humidity, and pressure. The system is modular and can be expanded for future upgrades such as wireless data logging or cloud integration.
