Flicker free RGB Dimmer with DMX control
RGB dimmer for LED strips with a common anode for 12V power supply. This project was conceived as a retrofit of decorative LED lighting in a broadcast studio. It can also be used for video blogging. Due to the use of conventional dimmers, with a switching frequency of about 400Hz, flickering is observed when shooting with the camera. My dimmer is designed for mounting in a ready-made aluminum rgb amplifier case, measuring L80 x W65 x H25mm, which are sold everywhere without any brand on aliexpress and in local stores. 31.4kHz switching frequency completely eliminates flicker on cameras and acoustic noise from power supply. High efficiency due to the use of discrete MOSFET gate drivers. The dimmer is capable of delivering real 7A per channel without additional cooling. A hole is cut in the case and a 0.91 inch 128x32 oled display with i2c control is built in. Holes for three buttons are also required. The DMX-512 signal is input through a standard 6.35mm stereo jack. The channel number is set by buttons through the on-screen menu and is stored in the EEPROM memory of the microcontroller. It is also possible to work autonomously with setting the brightness of the backlight through the menu.
