Gameport MIDI Interface (DB15)
A few years ago I decided that I needed a Roland MT-32 in my life, but with prices the way they are I wasn't able to get very far. So I started building a set of PCBs for MT32-PI instead, and these eventually became the BulkyMIDI-32. The next step was connecting it up to all of my favourite computers, most of them not having any dedicated MIDI-ports though in the case of the PCs we just need a common MPU-401 compatible soundcard (think Creative Sound Blaster 16 and newer). These had the MIDI-signals available on the gameport, so we just need to add a little adapter so that we can plug a MIDI-cable into it.
While the adapter carries the BulkyMIDI-32 name, the adapter can be used with real MIDI-devices such as the Roland MT-32 or any other MT32-PI builds for that matter. There are two variants of this board, this one connects directly to the gameport on your soundcard using a right-angle DB15 connector. If you prefer a bit of cable between them to ensure that it doesn't get in the way of your PC-case, check out the other variant instead.
