High-End weighing system
This project is a high-end weighing system.
It is a system based on an NXP LPC1788FBD208 microprocessor with a Texas Instruments ADS1232 AD converter.
Project description:
It is a weight measuring instrument made up of two parts, the main board (this one) and a display (see the other project).
The main board is based on the NXP microprocessor and a series of peripherals such as USB-Host, USB-Device, 3 serial ports, SD card, EEprom memory and a keyboard.
The instrument supports two types of display. A display with a 5 inch TFT screen or an industrial display well known as the 7 segment, with 6 3/4 inch digits with an additional LCM module.
The instrument is designed to operate with 2mV / V or 3mV / V analog type load cells. You have the option of being able to connect (and equalize) a second load cell
It also supports connection with digital type load cells, in particular the C16i models from HBM, DSC from Revere Transducer and ZSFB from Keli Sensor Technology.
The main board is prepared to support the connection of satellite boards, such as a 4-20mA analog output board or a setpoint board to carry out automation such as bagging or batch weighing.
From the point of view of the design of the hardware itself, the board is made up of 4 layers.
All lines from the microprocessor to the peripherals are equalized and compensated.
It has four different voltage sources, three for the digital sector and one for the analog sector (necessary to power the load cells). The sources for the digital secotr are divided into 3v3 micro, 3v3 chipset and 5V general.
