Description
Phone Line Simulator (POTS Land Line)
Plug an old land line phone or other device into the RJ11 jack, pick up the phone and hear a dial tone.
Take a second duplicate pcb and phone/device, link them with a spare RJ11 cable between them, and dial from one phone to the other.
Hear call progress tones in the phones.
The phone being called will ring until answered.
When a call is answered, the two phones are connected together by the RJ11 cable running between boards and the phones can work as if they are on a live phone service.
Modems can also call each other.
Useful for testing devices, creating a local intercom, and other nostalgic purposes.
