RFID / NFC Scanner
My project is a compact, portable RFID/NFC scanner that combines the ESP32-C3, a PN532 module, and a 0.96-inch SSD1306 OLED display. I designed it as a user-friendly tool for scanning and displaying information from various RFID and NFC tags in real-time, perfect for applications such as access control, inventory management, and tech demos.
The PN532 module is the heart of the project, enabling communication with both RFID and NFC tags using I2C, SPI, or UART. It supports reading and writing to a range of NFC formats, including ISO14443A/B, MIFARE, and FeliCa, making it versatile for many different use cases. When a tag is scanned, the PN532 reads data like the tag’s UID and type, and the ESP32-C3 then processes this information to display it on the OLED screen.
I was inspired to build this device to make RFID and NFC technology more accessible and to create an open-source solution that could serve both hobbyists and professionals. By leveraging the low power and high functionality of the ESP32-C3, this scanner is not only powerful but also compact and efficient, providing an affordable yet advanced tool for anyone interested in RFID/NFC technology.
