Satellite Control Hardware
Hardware Overview
The 6-Layer control hardware has been designed for a satellite to be taken launch in a interstellar rocket to spy an unknown planet. Our satellite has a high accuracy barometer to measure altitude and temperature, a GNSS module for gathering its location, IMU sensor for inertial measurement, live-video stream capability for recording the surface of the target planet and long range communication module for telemetry transfer. It has brushless motor drivers to control the descending velocity in the target atmosphere. There is also an SSD mount for massive data storage.
The satellite PCB consists of 6 layers and 586 through-hole vias. It has nearly $90 worth 100+ components on it.

General System Concept
Our satellite has been designed to be taken launch in a interstellar rocket to spy an unknown planet. It has several brushless motors to control the descending velocity, which to be activated when it enters the target atmosphere. Our satellite has a high accuracy barometer to measure altitude and temperature, a GNSS module for gathering its location, IMU sensor for inertial measurement, live-video stream capability for recording the surface of the target planet and long range communication module for telemetry transfer. The system after separation from the rocket, will descend at constant speed (12 m/s) using its versatile parachute in protective shield (satellite capsule) and at predetermined altitude, the payload will also be separated from its protective armed capsule.
