  • Hi, anybody experiencing any problems with the newly marked STM's? The first batch I ordered was stamped on the lower richt with ARM. The new chips differ a little. They program fine but the cartridge does not seem to boot. Now I'm unsure if I just got fake STM's or if there is another problem. I tried chips from 3 different (AliE, etc.) sellers but all with the exact same issue. bars, noises, beeps, but not the nice blue screen. All the other parts are exactly the same. Swapping chips with working stm just moves the problem, so it is definitly the new stm. Anyone?

i’ve had issues with fpga’s of many types from aliexpress, etc. most are just fake. especially most of the xilinx fpga’s. i no longer buy fpga’s from these sorts of dealers. i purchase from reputable wholesalers now. the cost is more but i know what i get isn’t counterfeit and i don’t want to risk losing the confidence of my buyers.

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks for the reply.
You confirmed my suspicion. I'll order them from a reputable source.
    Thanks again! Great project!

  • Hi Mike, sorry getting confused here. I gather this version is programmed directly on the board via ST-Link V2? Which does not require any special adaptors? (no special cable connectors besides the ST-Link V2 itself) What threw me off is both versions have the same version number and the photos seem to be the same. Also, there is no schematic or details in the descript_ion for this version. Thank you.

you need the tag-connect adapter along with the st-link/v2 to program this version. i am uploading a version now with a 2.54mm header that you can use a standard pin header or a jst connector to program.

Finally, I managed to find the pinout of the connector. Left column (from up to down) (pin 1) 3.3v RST Gnd. Right column : SWIO SWCLK (not connected)

Hi Bradley, I've just built one with tantalum capacitor type A 16V and it works fine.

you program the fpga after you solder it to the board.

    Arnaud Bui 2023-07-23 21:20:35Reply

Thank you for the answer. But how can I do it? I don't the SWCLK, SWDIO, 3.3V and GND connectors like on the Unocart v1.03 model. Thanks again.
