3D Printed Casing for Advanced Slot Car Lap Counter
This is the casing for the advanced lap counter. The project is now ready for you to be replicated.
In addition to standard functions, such as lap times, average, speed, etc., we have gradually implemented functions with a real wow factor that are truly unique:
The lap counter is controlled via a fast web interface or via push buttons, so you can track and control everything via WiFi across multiple devices.
You can optionally control your race track via relays and then there is a very special goody: It is measuring the voltages on the tracks to analyze the pilots' driving styles.
That's a really cool feature!
The serial interface is used to configure the lap counter and to record the data of your race.
We built prototypes, tested a lot, implemented new interesting functions and we have actually come a lot further than we initially thought.
You can follow this interesting journey on YouTube.
The videos are worth watching because we are explaining the hardware, the code and the functions.
You you can just replicate the ESP32-based hardware and simply load our code.
If you want, you can also print the housing, which has clever features too.
You can find everything about it on our GitHub repository under the YouTube videos: Gerber files, STL files, Arduino code and a few additional things.
