(DIY) ATARI 800XL MULTI GAME CARTRIDGE (8 x 8KB)

 You can make your own custom Atari 800XL Cartridge.

 Hello,

This is a simple, DIY multi game Atari 800XL cartridge. It has 8 games capacity, each 8 kilobytes size, total 64KB.

 All components are through hole, marked on the PCB, Easy to solder, Easy to make ;)

 This is a tested and working circuit board. This cartridge is tested with Atari 800XL.

 Just select 8pcs. your favorite 8 Kilobytes ROM Files (".BIN" or ".ROM" extension) and make your own custom Atari 800XL Multi Game Cartridge.

This PCB is also suitable for making 8 KB single-game cartridges. DIP switch is not used when using as a single-game cartridge.

You can find many different ROM files from internet by searching "Atari 800XL ROMS" or "Atari 800XL tosec"

ROM files bigger than 8 Kilobytes are not suitable for this cartridge, you can use only 8 Kilobytes ROM files.

You should append 8 pieces 8 kilobytes ROM files each other, reaching to the size of EPROM capacity, by using a "HEX Editor" program. EPROM must be fully filled from $0000 to $EFFF

You will need a programmer for EPROM

Please choose: Edge connector YES and Bevelling Yes (45°)

In order to protect your electronical devices, always turn off your ATARI before inserting or removing cartridges.

Gerber files can be changed at any time. Before paying for the PCBs, be sure to update your orders!

If your programmer have capability to test IC chips, like 74LS series, then you should not forget to test them before soldering, some chips may have defect. (TL866 Minipro Programmer is able to test some of logic IC)

As you can see I have uploaded many projects and I am still working on new projects. If you have any questions, please look for answers online. Unless I specify explicitly, all my projects are tested and confirmed to work under normal circumstances before being shared. I'm sorry I didn't have enough time to answer all the questions.
