  • Hi, thank you so much for sharing your interesting and useful project. I made this cable and the image quality is very good, but there is one problem: the background color, which is white, is displayed as blue (as shown in the photo). Is this normal? Or is there a problem? If there is a problem, I would appreciate your guidance. Thank you very much.

Hello, This is not normal. It seems like the RED color is missing. Could you please check the solder connections. Thank you for asking.

Thank you so much for your quick and thorough response.
You were absolutely right. The problem was with the third pin of the Amiga RGB, which was the red signal, and the pin wasn't connected properly.
I'm amazed how you were able to detect the absence of the red color even though it wasn't visible in the photo! You're truly a genius and you know your stuff!

You're welcome. If you subtract Red from white (RGB) it remains Blue and Green, that means cyan as in the photo. Thank you.

  • There is a better RGB to SCART circuit than the one used here from www.lotharek.pl. In addition, the PCB design does not fit a standard 23 pin shell nor the original one from Commodore. In both cases the PCB covers the shell's screws as in the photo. This PCB is an amazing idea so I hope the issues mentioned could be fixed.

Lotharek has made great contributions to the retro computers hobby and I have great respect for his efforts. Lotharek sells his own designs online. I don't think it's right for someone else to copy and share a product that was made and sold by the developer, unless the developer open-sources it. Thank you.

  • I have noticed that some Scart cables use capacitors (220uf) on their RGB lines out. I want to connect the Amiga to a Retrotink 5x Pro scaler so is your cable suitable for this ? Thanks

Hi Brian Robotham, I don't know about the Retrotink 5x Pro scaler so I'm not sure if it's suitable. Thanks for asking.
