Description
AtMega328PB adapter for Arduino UNO
This is the new revised version PCB, tested and working.
The new ATMega328PB is an enhanced version of the old ATMega328P that we see on Arduinos. It has 2 x UART, 2 x SPI, 2 x I2C and 2 extra IO pins but only comes only in TQFP package so it cannot be used on DIP socketed Arduino UNO's. This small adapter board will enable you to install it on a DIP socketed Arduino UNO and make use of these great extras.
2 x 100n capacitors are optional, just an added decoupling the power lines.
You'll need to use a different board definition in Arduino IDE and need to upload a custom bootloader which is both available here:

From a theoretical point of view, you are correct. But, so far it works with absolutely no problems. Just a hobby project for the Arduino tinkerers, nice to have the extra features of the PB variant of the Atmega328 on a regular UNO board.
