Fuzz Face Clone
PCB for a Fuzz Face clone.
It's possible to make any version of it. (Germanium version should have the voltage inverter board to work properly with negative ground pedals, I have it on my shared project's list).
This project have a trimmer, instead of the R3 8K2, to biasing. If you want to wire exactly like the original, place a 8K2 resistor between the first and second pad of the trimmer (from left to right).
Useful tips:
Greater the R2 value, greater output volume;
I made this board with a trimpot instead of the R3 resistor. Aim for 4.5v;
It's useful to have a 5K trimpot (in series) in the input, dial to remove noise;
Bias potentiometer: remove the trimmer (PR1) and use an B10K pot with 5K1 resistor, in series;
Use a 47pF capacitor between the base and collector of the transistor, in order to reduce noise;
If you install a A100K instead of A500K (volume pot), it'll have more bass.
If you use a PNP transistor, invert the polarity of the following capacitors: 2.2uF and 22uF
