SIMO ATtiny13 Mini Development Board
In this project am going to do a mini-development board based on ATtiny13 which will be a simple board that will have all the basic components that make it possible. The design will be made using KiCAD EDA where we shall design the schematic, do the PCB layout and routing, and finally finish with producing the 3D view, and the generation of Gerber files finally, I will show you how to order the board through PCBway KiCAD plugins one button click.
The Hardware Components
- ATtiny13 1
- Ceramic Disc Capacitor 100nF 1
- Electrolytic Capacitor 100uF 1
- Pin Connectors 01x02 3
- JST Connectors 01x10 1
- JST Connectors 01x08 1
- Pin Connector 01x06 1
- Resistor THT 10k 1
- AVR-ISP-10 1
- Push-button switch 1
The Schematic
While doing the schematic in KiCAD, make sure you do the connection of the components nicely and perfectly. Carry out the design rule check to ensure that there are no warnings and errors. Add the correct footprints to the symbols, annotate then generate the netlist and BOM. After all, this is done, the project can be pushed to the PCB routing window.
PCB Layout/Routing
At this level, the schematic component is connected by traces. The traces should be done nicely. Make sure they do not have sharp corners. Any corner on the traces should be approximately 45 degrees. The trace size should be at least 0.250 mils for better strength and signal flow. Arrange the components nicely with high frequency and signal components placed in a separate area from low frequency and signal components. At the end of this process, you should have something like the attached below.
3D Conversion
This is the simplest action to carry on the KiCAD. You just click on the ICON view on the PCB layout interface. Then you select 3D viewer and that is all.
Order for manufacturing
Ordering for manufacturing of your complete board is now a one-click activity. With the introduction of the PCBway plugins on KiCAD, you can order the board in the quickest way possible.
You need to click on 'Plugin and content manager, on KiCAD as shown below.
Click on it and scroll down until you get to ' PCBway plugin for KiCAD ' then hit install to do the installation if it is not installed.
Here you are now ready to go and with one click you can now import your
1. Gerber files in the correct format for production
2. IPC-Netlist file
3. Bom-file that includes all information of components (please note designator, quantity, MPN/part number, package/footprint are necessary)
4. Pick and Place-file used in the assembly
you can upload all your files for an order of manufacturing.
