Stepper Motor Controlled Stepper Motor Without Microcontroller!
Step 1: Watch the Video
Watch the video to get a full understanding of the project and learn how to troubleshoot it if anything goes wrong.
Step 2: Get All the Required Stuff
For this project, you will need:
- Two stepper motors
- A controller stepper motor, and
- A stepper motor to be driven
- An appropriate stepper motor driver
- A dual H-bridge motor driver like L298N can be used for driving both unipolar and bipolar stepper motors.
- A Darlington transistor array-based motor driver like ULN2003 can be used for driving only unipolar stepper motors.
- A 5 to 12-volt DC power supply (Depends on the driven stepper motor)
Step 3: Connect the Stepper Motor to Be Driven to the Motor Driver
Step 4: Connect the Controller Stepper Motor to the Motor Driver
For now, connect the controller motor's wires to the input pins of the motor driver in any sequence. If a unipolar stepper motor is being used then the center tap wire of the motor can be left unconnected.
Step 5: Power Up the Motor Driver Board
Connect the motor driver board to a suitable DC power source and power it up.
Step 6: It's Done!
If at this point, the motor to be driven does not move properly or moves back and forth, change the sequence of the controller motor's wires connected to the input pins of the motor driver.
