This is a direct swap-in replacement for the CCFL backlight as used in the THS7xx series scopes.

It replaces the CCFL inverter, allowing for the use of LED's to provide a much brighter display with significant power savings even at maximum brightness.

You will need to source some LED strip, I used the following:

The 'natural white' is the closest to the original CCFL colour.

There's nothing special about the PCB construction, the usual SMD deal. You'll need to cut the LED strip to fit (It is able to be trimmed to the exact size) and attach some thin wires with a crimped plug. (You can 'crimp' the connectors onto the wire with thin pliers then carefully solder if you don't have a crimping tool).
