mac-PLUS scsi_design
A re-design of a Mac Plus Internal SCSI board.
you need to remove the scsi chip out of the Main board and replace it with a 40 pin socket..
make a socket cable connector to the scsi board ( 40 pin socket header to 40 pin IDC Plug ).
you will also need to make a long Floppy cable to get the power from it for the scsi HDD
( you could take it from the PSU direct if you want to..
Have updated to v.3.1
note: put a 3 pin termination header for 5v, GND or no termination.
Parts:
J1 - 2 pin socket for power LED
J2 - 40 pin IDE mail socket
J3 - 2 pin socket for Floppy LED
J4 - 2 Pin JTS Socket for case fan (to help cool SCSI)
J5 - 20 Pin Male socket
J6 - 3 row pin's (jumper block)
J7 - 50 pin Male socket for SCSI drive (with or without clinch pins)
J8 - 4 pin Male Molex socket ( for SCSI Drive power)
D1 - 1N4002 (can be any 1N4001,1N4002, 1N4003, 1N4004, 1N4005)
D2 - 1N4002 (can be any 1N4001,1N4002, 1N4003, 1N4004, 1N4005)
C1 - 10uf 50v Radial Cap elect
C2 - 10uf 50v Radial Cap elect
R1 - 39R 5 Watt Ceramic resistor
R2 - 1k 1/4w resistor
R3 - 470R 1/4w resistor
U1 - 40 pin socket (for the SCSI chip to be relocated too from the motherboard.)
For the relocation cable you will need to get hold of a ribbon cable 40 pin header to plug into the board (after you put a socket in from removing the scsi chip.(TAKE NOTE OF PIN 1 ON THE BOARD).also the 40 pin socket that goes to the scsi board is pin for pin.
the power for is delivered from the floppy cable.. (you can make an extension cable or a replacement one that's longer. i will upload some pic's of the cables soon.
