'Wild' Animals Repellant Sensor
Any time the term Ultrasonic comes to our mind, we figure out the communication of the dolphins and the bats. Ultrasonic is used to refer to any sound that is beyond the audible sound frequencies and this is something over 20kHz. Some equipment such as the ultra scan systems that are used in the diagnosis of the patient in the medical field extends to sound frequencies of 10MHz and beyond. Our Wild Animal Repellant sensor is a designed system that will be used to scare away angry and attacking dogs. The system is built of a 555-timer integrated circuit, a small ferrite transformer, and a speaker.
The system's main part is a 555-timer which is an IC that has applications in timing, oscillating, and pulse generating.
The Schematic and How it Works
The schematic is designed through KiCAD EDA.
To have the ability to use the circuit, you should adjust R3 to a resonance frequency provided by the piezo transducer for us to have the maximum amplitude of the sensor. It can reach 108Vpp at 30KHz. If you don't have the piezo, expect an output voltage of about 200Vpp.
Components used;
- 555 timer
- Red LED
- 3,3V capacitors- 2
- Switch NO
- Piezoelectric speaker
- 10nF capacitor
- 1N4004 diodes- 3
- 63 uF resistors
- 4.7k Variable resistor
- 2.2k resistors-2
- Ferrite transformer
Routing and 3D Generation.
Before submitting the sensor board for fabrication, you need to provide some design files, and also they must comply with the standards of manufacturers. Routing must be done to the board and this is done through KiCAD EDA to achieve the following. The routing process can be understood through The Engineers Hub.
It is also at this routing process where we shall convert the routed board into 3D design and also generate all the fabrication files for manufacturing. The necessary files include Gerbers, pick and place, BOM, and Drill files. These are the files that you can share with the manufacturer for the fabrication process to begin.
Order for Manufacturing
To order for manufacturing you need to click on PCBway and then go to the PCB instant quote page and fill in the necessary information.
The necessary information can be selected from the template provided on this page which is the board type, the size, the material, the number of boards to be produced and the size of the holes, etc.
After all the specifications have been fed nicely, you need to hit calculate so that you can get the approximate price quote.
then hit save to cart and this will lead you to another page where you need to upload your Gerber files and submit them for the engineers to give you the final quote.
After receiving the final quote, make your payments then wait for your board to be delivered within seven days of ordering at your exact location and done with great quality through our various shipment facilities.
