C64 VIC Adapter allows you to use VIC 8565/8562 in place of VIC 6569/6567 which is normally not possible due to different voltages used by these chips. While VIC chips are pin compatible (except voltage) there may be difference in video signal when VIC 8565 is used in place of VIC 6569.

For example during my tests when I was connecting display via composite or S-Video I was getting normal colors with both VICs, but when I was connecting via upscalers and HDMI picture was ok with VIC 6569 but dimmer and oversaturated with VIC 8565.

Warning! Adapter does not allow using VIC 6569 in place of VIC 8565! Doing so will permanently damage the chip!
