NOTE: The edge connector on this expansion should be soldered to the front side of the card so the pins come out the back. This way the pins will line up with the socket on the system PCB. The power and ground pins are on alternating sides of the socket so its impossible to plug the module in backwards and end up with the internal parts wired backwards, however the bus pins will not line up in this case and the module will not work. If having the PCB assembled please leave a note to not solder the edge connector as it cant be wave soldered with all the other components on the back side.

NOTE: It's recommended at this point to not populate the header pins for the USB to Serial adapter and to wire them directly to a FTDI adapter, and affix with something like hot glue to the back of the card. The pin out does not line up with most currently available adapters. If a header pin is used, please use care in hooking up the interface. see the hack a day page for more details.

This is the compact serial module for the HB6809 computer, it's first expansion. This allows for communication to a terminal with a simple USB ACIA adapter.
