LED Matrix Display Driver
This is a controller board for Dot Matrix LED displays. The great thing about this board is that it can drive both single color and multicolor RGB displays. It uses ESP8266 to control the Dot Matrix Displays. On the top we have RGB input and output pins and at the bottom left we monochrome input pins. The board sits perfectly on the header pins of the Display. So no nasty wiring needed. On the bottom left we have scrub terminals for power connection. The board can be programmed via the pin headers at the bottom.
Programming :
Single Color Display :
I have used a plane webserver interface running on esp8266 for sending text to the Matrix controller board. ESP then prints those alphanumeric characters to the Display and scroll them to the end. The Code can be found on my GitHub Account.
RGB Display :
The library I used for RGB Display is the #PxMatrix, Adafruit GFX compatible graphics driver for LED matrix planel by 2dom. While searching on the web I found the Morphing Digits made by Hari Wiguna. The seamless transition effect looks so cool and it's really fun to play with. I used his code and make a cool digital clock using it.
