Rotary encoder with 7-segment display and Lattice MachXO CPLD
For those looking for a trickier board to assemble, here's an encoder board with Lattice MachXO CPLD chip in QFN32 package. This chip is mounted on the bottom of the board and on top there is a2x7-segment display in Common Cathode configuration. This display is controlled by CPLD. Rotary encoder is also connected to CPLD. A 2x6 header is available for programming CPLD and communication with it once programmed. It can be used to implement SPI connection to read encoder and write display value.
Simpler versions of this project with only an encoder and LEDs are available in SMD and through-hole versions.
