amateur radio Terminal node controler
It is a terminal node controller that works on VHF radio with RS232 communication port.
I decide to build this board after seeing the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJVU1stPPlQ from the Retro Recipes channel.
After some research I re created a card allowing to communicate via radio wave.
The goal is like in the retro recipes video to be able to contact the ISS station from my old Amstrad CPC 6128 from 1987, But it can also works on a regular PC with RS232...
To do this, the card must be link to a comuteur with RS232 com port, and a VHF radio to transmit data on 144.800mhz VHF frequency
with this card you can do APRS communication, packet radio exchange, can work as a digipeater or be use it as a tracker with a gps rs232.
Different firmwares can be integrated into the card.
To start you have to type "help" in the command prompt to see all the possible parameters,
"Perm" to save the modified parameters, and "Converse" to start the direct conversion of radio signals to RS232 and vice versa
This bord works with a Pic 16F88, a 20mhz cristal to convert data, and a simple max232 to link pic's TTL to a computer's RS232
You need MPlab IPE and pickit 2 or 3 for load firmware in PIC 16F88, and Putty or any terminal to use it
