Description
LED-No-Solder
The LED-No-Solder PCB encapsulates a coin cell battery within the PCB using forks on either side for contact. The configuration allows you to turn the LED on and off by pushing the contacts toward the battery, and the battery can be secured using heat-shrink tubing.
The LED is attached to this PCB via an arrangement of through holes that allow one to thread the contacts through, then bend to securely attach. While solder can be used on the PCB to secure the LED, this is optional, and the whole device can be built without using solder whatsoever.
Device would be idea for educational purposes to create one's first circuit. It also makes a nice key fob, has a ruler, and, as seen in the video below, can be used as a light-up guitar pick:
