Pico Touch 2 Raspberry Pi Pico Capacitive Helper
I made the Pico Touch 2 board shown in the video above after frustration with supplying my own THT resistors for the MIDI finger piano shown in the second video below. This board features 1Mohm resistors that are applied to 23 of the Raspberry Pi Pico's GPIO pins. Solder the Pico on directly, or via header pins, and you can then use the GPIO pins as capacitive inputs with no additional hardware.
As shown in the first video, I turned a trio of unused macropad PCBs into a three-button capacitive macropad, and simply clipped spoons on to turn them into a MIDI input device (and macropad). Hopefully others will find interesting uses for this board, which is available here on Tindie.
The video below shows the first revision of this board, which featured a central cutout/rat bite design, allowing it to be broken in two as needed. While that feature didn't survive into the next iteration, it's still a technique that could be useful in some situations. I've programmed the Pico Touch 2 via CircuitPython, but other methods should be possible as well.
