Miniature PCB Tester
I order and sell a number of EZ Fan 2 fan/load controller boards, and while the quality is excellent, and they are fairly simple in operation, I like to test every one before shipping them. In order to facilitate this test, I came up with a small 3D-printed pogo pin test jig, which lights up an LED if the board is working correctly.
The fixture is based on an ATtiny84, mounted to my EZ-85 general purpose ATx5 breakout. Since this breakout is meant to mount two EZ Fan 2 boards, spacing was already perfect.
While a simple project, one thing that seemed clever was the way that the two output pogo pins/LED was mounted. The 3D-printed fixture is designed to hold the LED leads like a spring.
The build was a fun project and learning experience, and will make it much easier to test these devices. More info is available on the video below:
