What is the PCB Copper Weight?

Copper foil thickness is specified in ounces per square foot (oz/ft²) or simply ounces. Common thicknesses include 1 oz/ft² (300 g/m²), 2 oz/ft² (600 g/m²), and 3 oz/ft² (900 g/m²). These correspond to thicknesses of 35 µm (1 oz), 70 µm, and 105 µm, respectively.

PCBWay offers copper thickness for the outer layer ranging from 1 oz to 13 oz. The copper thickness for the default inner layer is 1 oz.

Higher copper weight improves the electrical performance of the circuit board but also increases the difficulty of etching the board. For most general circuits, 1 oz copper weight is sufficient.

For mass production,  please ensure that the minimum line width and spacing meet the following specifications.
