Description
Arduino RF Frequency Counter with Prescaler
A SAB6456 prescaler is used for divide by 64/256 with an upper range of 1 GHz.

he could measure about 5mhz to 200mhz but on datasheet says it can works between 70-1000 MHZ. And he didn't mention about transistor, but when i look gerber file, he use 2n2222 and as i can understand from video he use old metal package (these days some plastic 2n2222 can be fake or under standard quality, thanks to Chinese...). This transistor can reach 250mhz maximum so he can not measure 1GHZ (i think), and you must to use rf transistor about 1GHZ like BFS20. But I love this project because its so cheap for like this frequency counter.
The transistor for HF pre amp is working after prescaler, the transistor working at HF frequency would sufficient. SAB6456 will working good up to 1GHz, i built DIY frequency counter with SAB6456, as daily measurement tool in my workbench, even still usable down to 1MHz.
