This adapter board converts the 14 pin header found on many display modules to a 12 pin FFC connector or 12 pin header. This board also fixes an issue with many of the display modules where the display doesn’t release MISO making sharing the SPI bus with the touch controller and other SPI devices impossible. Note that the display and touch controller share the same SPI bus when using this adapter. This display adapter can be used on boards that don’t have a touch controller.
If your display module has a 14 pin header as shown above, this adaptor will work on your module.
The adaptor chip U1 is optionally installed only when you need to be able to read from the display. In most cases you only need to write to the display so U1 and C1 can be omitted.
JP1 is a 12 pin 1mm pitch FFC connector source
JP2, JP3, are 2.54 breakable headers.
JP4 and JP5 are single pin breakable headers with their pins cut short to be used as standoffs. See pictures below.
U1 is a SN74VC1G125 in a SOT23-5 package. <— Optional, see note above
C1 is a 0.1uf capacitor in a 0603 package <— Optional, see note above
