Electronic Enclosure applied for electronic devices
Introduction
When designing electronics, the enclosure plays a crucial role that is often overlooked. In addition to protecting sensitive components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) from dust, moisture, and physical damage, an electronic enclosure offers additional benefits that go far beyond protection.
A well-designed enclosure makes it easier to handle and organize components, while improving the aesthetics and usability of the device.
This project was developed with the purpose of using KF301 connectors and several other connectors to assist in the development of projects for load control, sensor reading and other devices.
In this documentary article we will present this electronic housing that can be used for an infinite number of projects and you will have access to all the files to manufacture with 3D printing, here at PCBWay.
Materials Used
To develop this electronic enclosure you must use the following materials:
SLA 3D Printing - Body Electronic Enclosure
SLA 3D Printing - Cover Electronic Enclosure
04 x Screw Stainless Steel Pan Head Phillips Screw 3-48 1/4''
04 x Screw Stainless Steel Flat Head Phillips Screw 3-48 1/4''
Technical Specifications
The dimensions of the electronic enclosure are shown below.
A very important point to consider is the size of the printed circuit board. To help you develop your circuit board from this electronic housing, we provide a model with the maximum external dimensions for you to consider during the development process of your PCB. In the figure above we have the representation with the maximum dimensions of an electronic board that can be installed in the internal structure of the printed circuit board.
Below we have the structure of the electronic housing base without the printed circuit board. See the fixing points of the electronic board through the use of self-tapping screws.
You can use the printed circuit board outline shown above in .DXF format to import into your electronic board design. This file is in the attachments of this article. Access and download the file now.
Assembly Process
The assembly process is very simple and is represented by the structure below. The electronic housing requires the use of 4 tap screws to secure the base and the lid, ensuring a sturdy and reliable connection.
The electronic housing presented can be used in a variety of applications. Its assembly process is very simple and you can use PCBWay's manufacturing services right now to manufacture it with quality 3D printing and industrial finish.
Do you want parts with a finish similar to thermoplastic injection? Print with PCBWay at a low price, with a variety of materials and quality.
The project was tested on the bench and showed excellent results after 3D print process with FDM 3D Printer.
